▶ Your Answer : People have different opinions on whether or not studying alone is more productive than studying in groups. Regarding this, some argue that students who study alone is more effective. However, I strongly believe that studying in groups can bring some advantages. I will further outline my argument below. On the one hand, most members in a group will have common interests or objectives ; they want to master their subjects and achieve the highest levels of success in them. For example, I participate in a study group when I was in high school. During the exam periods, my group members and I were able to help each other succeed on the tests because we challenged and tested each other for hours. If any of us had problems understands a concept or idea, there was always someone else in the group who could clarify it for us. In this regard, it is evident that students can mutually motivate and encourage each other to create stimulating environments. On the other hand, other people prefer to study alone because they think that studying alone is more productive in terms of time efficiency. It is no doubt that people frequently experience argument when studying or working together. Those conflicts subsequently cause time-consuming disputes, some of which are very useless and unproductive. Moreover, the problem is more serious when those conflicts are too severe to keep a good relationship among group members. This crisis often lower working efficiency and therefor prevents people from meeting the deadline. To sum up, although both perspectives have acceptable points in deciding whether studying in groups is more favourable than studying alone, I take the view that people are motivated to study harder by supporting one another in a group. |
